Caring for Calatheas

(Prayer Plants, Orbifolia, Medallion, Makoyana & more)

Light:
Bright, indirect light or filtered light. Avoid direct sun which can fade and crisp the leaves.

Water:
Keep soil consistently moist but never soggy. Use filtered or distilled water if possible, Calatheas are sensitive to chemicals in tap water.

Humidity & Temperature:
High humidity is key! Mist often or use a humidifier. Prefers 65–80°F.

Soil & Repotting:
Use a light, airy mix (peat-based with perlite). Repot yearly to refresh soil and nutrients.

Fertilizer:
Feed every 4 weeks during spring and summer.

Care Tip:
Leaves naturally move with the light, a gentle reminder to slow down and notice your environment.
